Covid-19 Safety Policy

We are a Covid-secure premises.

In writing this policy, we have undertaken a risk assessment and followed guidance for ‘close contact services’ from the Health and Safety Executive and industry guidance. 

Preparing for your Appointment

We ask for your understanding that appointments may need to be cancelled at short notice if we are notified we have come into contact with someone who has covid-19 symptoms in order to self isolate.

We also ask that patients with symptoms of Covid-19 or those who have been in contact with someone with symptoms or a confirmed case, to please cancel your appointment until after you have isolated for 10 days* from the onset of your symptoms. There will be no penalties for last minute cancellations during this time. Key symptoms to look out for are:

  • Fever over 37.5’C
  • Persistent new cough
  • Loss or change of smell or taste

We operate by appointment only with time allowed between patients for cleaning, therefore, please enter the clinic only at the time of your appointment, to reduce the risk of cross over with other patients.

We ask that patients please attend the clinic on their own to reduce possible contact. One parent or guardian may accompany a minor under the age of 18 to an appointment.

During your appointment

Patients will be asked to confirm that they are symptom free, asked to use the provided hand sanitiser on entry and exit from the clinic and will be asked to have their temperature taken on entry.

You may bring your own drink with you, however drinks will not be provided.

Face coverings are now mandatory for patients coming into clinic; please put this on before enteringthe premises. Disposable facemasks will be available also.

Staff will wear visors and facemasks in line with government guidelines during your appointment and will continue to observe strict hygiene related to hand washing between appointments and for cleaning of PPE/uniforms.

The majority of your appointment will be able to take place at 2 metres, however minimal ‘side-by-side’ contact will be required for the scalp examination and other services where care will be taken to avoid face-to-face contact.

We ask that payments are made by card only wherever possible

If required, disposable towels will be used. All equipment and the clinic environment will be cleaned and disinfected between each appointment and facilities will be kept well ventilated.

We are required to pass on your contact details for track and trace purposes, you will be asked for consent for this.
